Founded in Cremona in 1959 by Roberto Bonetti, Witor's has been making chocolate specialities for over sixty years. Among them is the famous Boero, combining extra-dark chocolate, liqueur and a cherry, found on bar counters all over Italy. Today Witor's is present in over 70 countries and produces more than 36,000 tonnes a year, making it Italy's third-largest producer by volume. Alongside its pralines it makes bars, snacks, biscuits and spreads, which have won awards including the ISM Award 2017. The company runs 18 production lines and 30 packaging types across 2 plants, in Cremona and Gorizia. In 2017 it added a new 9,000 m² automated high-bay warehouse with 8,000 pallet positions. To protect its new high-bay warehouse from fire, Witor's turned to Mozzanica. Mozzanica's engineering team, together with the racking supplier, developed an integrated system compliant with EN 12845: 7,000 sprinklers installed inside the racks. The sprinklers are fed by a pumping station with two 450 m³/h diesel pumps and a 700 m³ water reserve, split into two 350 m³ tanks. Close coordination between design and installation teams ensured contract deadlines were fully met. The client's satisfaction is confirmed by its decision to entrust Mozzanica with the maintenance of the systems. 7,000 in-rack sprinklers 9,000 m² of warehouse protected 8,000 pallet positions 1 pumping station 2 diesel pumps rated 450 m³/h 700 m³ of water reserve in 2 tanks of 350 m³ Integrated design: system developed together with the racking supplier.
